Excital is an innovative solution for removing cyanobacteria (red slime algae) from reef aquariums without the use of antibiotics or copper-containing compounds. Cyanobacteria often develop when water temperatures rise, especially in combination with high organic waste levels
or decaying material in the substrate.
Excital effectively combats cyanobacteria while remaining completely safe for reef systems.

Reef-Safe Cyanobacteria Control

Excital is easy and safe to use and is harmless to fish and corals.
It works by supporting natural biological processes that replace red slime algae without harming sensitive reef life.

For Best Results

In cases of heavy infestation, it is recommended to manually remove as much cyanobacteria as possible before starting the Excital treatment. This allows the product to work more efficiently.

Directions for Use

• Remove active carbon before dosing
• All other equipment may remain switched on
• Dose 10 ml per 40 litres of aquarium water daily for 5 consecutive days

The first few days are required for beneficial bacteria to build up and replace cyanobacteria. Visible results typically appear after 5–7 days, with full results within approximately 10 days.

Severe Infestation Treatment

In severe cases, the treatment may be extended for a few additional days and even used at a double dose, as Excital is completely reef- and coral-safe.

Maintenance Dosage

• For sustained results, add 10 ml per 100 litres of aquarium water once per week

In some cases, a second treatment may be required to fully eliminate cyanobacteria.
