Vanadium plays a role in coral health, particularly in coloration and overall well-being. It’s considered a trace element that corals need for various biological processes, including photosynthesis and nutrient utilization. While vanadium is essential, excessive levels can be harmful to corals, leading to darkening and health issues.

How Vanadium Affects Corals:
Coloration:Vanadium contributes to the diverse colors seen in corals, especially bright blues and reds. Deficiencies can lead to duller, less vibrant colors.
Photosynthesis:Vanadium is involved in the photosynthetic process within corals, so low levels can slow down photosynthesis and impact coral growth.
Nutrient Uptake:Vanadium helps in the breakdown and uptake of nutrients, so a deficiency can hinder the overall nutritional health of the coral.

For the advanced aquarist 1ml (20 drops) will raise the vanadium levels by 0.006 ppm (mg/L) or 6 ppb (µg/L) for each 100L of tank water.  If  you know the vanadium depletion rate then dose accordingly.
